Craig earned his B.B.A. from Baylor University and his J.D. from Baylor University School of Law, cum laude. During law school, Craig was selected to be a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America National Mock Trial Team, the Texas Invitational Mock Trial Team, Order of Barristers and the Harvey M. Richey Moot Court Society. He was also a member of the Baylor Law Review and served as Managing Editor, Assistant Managing Editor and Executive Editor during his tenure. During law school, Craig co-authored “The Classification of General and Special Damages for Pleading Purposes in Texas”, 51 Baylor L. Rev. 629 (1999).
Craig has a nationwide practice focusing on business/commercial litigation, catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death litigation, automotive product liability litigation, commercial trucking litigation, construction litigation and municipal law.
Craig has served as lead counsel in state and federal courts for both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of civil litigation matters. In 2005, he served as co-lead counsel for the plaintiffs in the first jury trial to go to verdict in the United States involving a motorcoach bus manufacturer. In that case, a McLennan County, Texas jury returned a $17.5 million dollar actual damage award in favor of the plaintiffs, which is also the largest actual damage award in a product liability case in McLennan County history and was also listed by The National Law Journal as one of the Top 100 verdicts in the United States in 2005.
In recognition of his advocacy skills and the results achieved for his clients, Craig was selected by his colleagues as a Texas Rising Star inTexas Monthly magazine (Texas Super Lawyers – Rising Star Edition) in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010. Craig was also named the Outstanding Young Lawyer 2005 by the Waco-McLennan County Bar Association.
Since graduating from law school, Craig has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Baylor University School of Law, teaching courses in both Consumer Protection and Remedies.
He has also served as a Contributing Editor to the General Practice Digest, Consumer Law Section, of the State Bar of Texas, as well as, the Editorial Board of The Advocate, the quarterly journal publication of the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas. He has also been invited to speak on numerous occasions at litigation conferences in Texas and across the United States.
Craig is admitted to practice before state courts in Texas, as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas; Fellow, Texas Bar Foundation; Bar Association of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals; Texas Trial Lawyers Association; American Association for Justice; Abner V. McCall American Inn of Court; the Waco-McLennan County Bar Association and the Waco-McLennan County Young Lawyers Association (Board of Directors 2003-2006; Treasurer, 2006-2007; Secretary, 2007-2008).
In addition to his professional activities, Craig is also committed to his community. He is a LEAD (Leadership, Education, and Development) Mentor for area high school students through a program established by the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce and the Waco Independent School District and is a member of the Campaign Cabinet for the Hillcrest Health Foundation. Craig and his family are members of First United Methodist Church in Waco, where Craig also serves on the Finance Committee and Administrative Board. |
